the whole Colin Powell snippet bears watching but my favorite part starts at 5:15.

I’m also troubled by not what Senator McCain says but what members of the Party say and it is permitted to be said. Such things as “Well you know Mr. Obama is a Muslim.” Well the correct answer is he is not a Muslim, he’s a Christian, he’s always been a Christian. But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer is no, that’s not America.

it would mean a lot for Republicans to speak out against the allegations of their own (still on this birth certificate thing…??) to get down to the real issues the country’s facing. that’s a sign of true leadership that i guess i won’t see anytime soon. 

but with Republicans like Colin Powell, i can always hope, at least.
